Abstract

The results of the study reflect the factors that cause the development of irrigation erosion. The dependence on the cross-sectional area of the irrigation furrow depending on the flow of water and slopes for the conditions of the mountain-foothill zone of Azerbaijan was determined using the example of the Upper Shirvan zone. The equation is obtained based on the prediction of soil erosion during furrow irrigation. The proposed methodology for predicting soil erosion during furrow irrigation and the developed recommendations for soil irrigation can be used in the design of new areas of agricultural production, mapping of the territory depending on the potential risk of irrigation erosion and the development of measures to combat erosion.

Keywords
